《高职高专英语系列：英语阅读教程（第2册）》的使用对象主要是应用和商务英语类学生。然而，由于高职高专院校英语教育类的部分学生毕业后也先后从事商务和行政管理工作，故我们认为，《高职高专英语系列：英语阅读教程（第2册）》对于类似英语教育等非商务英语专业类学生的能力迁移和知识层次拓广培训也是不乏裨益的，也是一套可选教材。
《高职高专英语系列：英语阅读教程（第2册）》共两册，分为基础篇和提高篇，主要强调商务背景工作、活动当中相关英语词汇的学习和积累以及阅读技巧的介绍和运用，同时也兼顾涉外活动情境当中的一些相关专业英文词汇的拓展以及通过阅读各类英文资讯来获取商务信息能力的培养。
